January blues are long gone, but now it's time to get out and about in the city. The days are slowly becoming brighter as we head closer towards the spring equinox. Put on your trainers, because it is time to see some exhibitions!

My list of top 5 exhibitions in London for February-March will undoubtedly unlock your creative juices.

#1 - Infinity Mirror Room at Tate Modern

Spoiler alert: The room is not infinite, but it does exude this illusion as you wander through the dazzling, vivid lights, transporting you into an endless escape of mirrored reflections.

The Infinity Room, created by Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese contemporary artist is a must-see for anyone who loves immersive artwork.

Throughout the exhibition, it delves into the life of Kusama, as well as displaying her other iconic pieces, such as the 'Chandelier of Grief'.

Where: Tate Modern, Bankside

Price: £10 for regular admission

Dates: Until 18th April 2024

I would highly recommend booking in advance on the Tate Modern website as it is a highly sought-after exhibition.

#2 - Cute Exhibition at Somerset House

Celebrating 50 years of Hello Kitty at Somerset House, this exhibition is a nostalgic experience fuelling your inner child.

Cute would be an understatement to describe this exhibition; from the second you enter, the walls are adorned with fluffy cat images. However, wait till you see the Hello Kitty wall - truly mesmerising!

I would recommend this exhibition to everybody, as it is impossible to become bored when there is a disco, arcade room and visual stimuli. Although, if you become lethargic, there is a sleeping area - what more could you ask for?

I would advise leaving ample time to enjoy this exhibition, probably 1.5 hours, which could be extended by the lure of the gift shop and Hello Kitty Cafe (which I have yet to try).

Where: Somerset House, Strand

Price: £18.50 for regular admission (children & students are cheaper)

Dates: Until 14th April 2024

#3 - Barbara Kruger: Thinking Of You. I Mean Me. I Mean You

Kruger's iconic work merges text and imagery to challenge societal norms, power dynamics, and consumer culture. Her bold statements and striking visuals captivated me as she sparked critical reflection on themes such as identity, gender, and politics, even comically displaying them.

The exhibition will leave you feeling inspired and engaged long after you've left the gallery!

Where: Serpentine Gallery, Hyde Park

Price: FREE

Dates: Until 17th March 2024

#4 - Refik Anadol: Echoes of the Earth

Have you ever experienced AI art? Well, Anadol's art is the place to check out as he captures the creative potential of this technology. His project trained AI models on a range of data, from photographs and sounds to scientific information about rainforests around the globe, thereby exhibiting an immersive experience of nature.

It was satisfying to watch the intricate movements of his creations, which inhibited a sense of tranquillity.

Where: Serpentine Gallery, Hyde Park

Price: FREE

Dates: Until 7th April 2024

#5 - Andy Warhol

This was a short, but sweet exhibit of the renowned pop artist Andy Warhol.

It was incredible to view his Iconic artwork in real life, especially pieces such as Marilyn Monroe and the 'Dollar Sign'.

Although a short exhibition, you can spend time in the glamorous shopping district of New Bond Street, which is aligned with designer stores, then savour a coffee at Ralph's.

Where: Halcyon Gallery, New Bond Street

Price: FREE

Dates: Until 7th April 2024

Enjoy!
